This is my first anime figure I have gotten, and I couldn’t help myself but add some detail to it. Originally, the figure just had a plain black base. I carefully measured out several popsicle sticks and cut them to scale to make the floorboards of the apartment Anya is walking on. I finished the floor with a dark wood stain and a gloss varnish. It ended up looking great.

The new starter set came out some time ago and I have finally painted 2 models in it. I wanted to pick one of the more unique models in the unit, the Battle Priests. They look like they are bringing some small relics with them, making sure the faith in Sigmar is kept up properly.

My old Middenhiem colour scheme on the new models looks great. Though these particular models don’t have as many doodads the old State Troopers had, the detail on the new models is more crisp and the hands aren’t as poofy, they still maintain the charm I look for in regular humans up against supernatural horrors. Great update.

The first round of rebasing used MDF engraved cobblestone. But, now that I don’t have as ready an access to a laser cutter, I am using a texture roller with Greenstuff and gluing a cutout on top of a plastic base. How does it look? I think it works.

Priming is currently being done on the KDM project. Updates soon!

The second battery is complete, finishing the unit. My first 10th ed Astra Militarum unit, and first unit since my converted Manticore unit the new colour scheme. It all looks fantastic and I am looking forward to redoing more of the older models.

The Autarch and 2 remaining weapon platforms are done. This will complete the Guardian squad and bring in a general to the army.

I find the decals with the black stripes behind them make the design so sharp and clean. Since starting this commission, I am considering doing more lore-common armies so I have decals to work with. But the satisfaction of custom designing decals and having them printed also makes for an army all the more unique.

The Autarch looks so sharp in all his different weapon combinations and his flag backpack. I actually tried to make the black stripes angled so it would match the little double diamond angles. Hopefully that helps make the decal fit in with the flag, as if it were actually produced with the design of the flag.

All that’s left in the commission is the Avatar. Very exciting!

My first mobile artillery piece is done. I decided to finish the Field Gun first since I like the style and it’s part of the combat patrol. I have magnetized the weapon options and am confident each one will look great all together on the base.

I got custom decals done by ImpatientTabletop on Etsy, all white deer icons in varying sizes. Though I do consider it expensive, the quality looks great and it was easy to use. Since starting the Saim-Hann commission, I got to use way more decals that I usually do, so I have taken a liking to the possibilities that are out there.

The Seaforth Highlanders’ regimental flag has a deer on it so I thought putting the simpler icon on the models would look good. I think I’ll try the more complex flag imagery on the command squad flag, freehand.

I am very happy with how this turned out and look forward to the second Ordnance model and the rest of the army.

After getting inspired by Gamer Grass battle ready Highland Bases, I made my own for my new field ordnance battery. This is step number two from the old custom Manitcore I did several years ago, where I want to refurbish my Imperial Guard army. I finally have a base I really like and have an idea for the colour scheme. All three weapons on the gun are magnetized, so I look forward to showing off how it looks with all the combinations and a crew.

To make the base have some hills, I did build up some lumps of putty before putting the sand on. I think the uneven ground sells the base as more realistic for the terrain type I am going for. It’s a mishmash of Highlands and Grasslands of some sort where there are large rocks all over, the ground is uneven, there are some flowers and shrubs, and the grass isn’t uniform or manicured. As as last touch, I made sure to put in tire tracks leading up to the position of the artillery.

The colour scheme is going to be similar to many other old military colours. But in particular, I am going for pre-1997 Canadian military uniforms so it will be plain olive drab instead of modern digital camo (I don’t think I can do digital camo well yet on 28mm minis). Any patches or iconography will be from the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada. Stay tuned for the completed mini with will be showing at least 1 decal or patch colour!

The jetbikes are now done. Shining Spears are traditionally blue and white, but the Saim-Hann treatment made them red and white. Each of them are magnetized on a ball magnet so the bikes can rotate, their weapon arms are also magnetized. The mooks are magnetized for, I assume, ease of transport, but the squad leader can switch out for a sword. There is also an option for one to take a Shuriken Cannon instead of twin Catapults.

I am happy with how the decals turned out, especially on the flags. I decided to rotate the logo on the spear flag because it’s even more narrow than the flag on the bike. It just fit way better and I think it looks good. There’s also a few Guardian looking minis in the front. Those are the Guardians attached to the Support Batteries that I finished before starting on the artillery.

There are a few Vipers and Support Batteries that are going to painted up next!

The Imperial Officer for my Hundred Kingdoms army is done and with 2 pieces of furniture that serve as his retinue. I’ve done so much NMM on this mini and I haven’t done this much NMM in a long time, and I am happy with how it turned out!

The tiny table and weapons rack are hand made using balsa wood and styrene. All three of them are magnetized and the base has 4 spots that can take magnets, so I can rearrange the display as I want. I need more ideas for furniture/features for the retinue, so far it’s a chest, a squire, a kneeling stool, and an altar

The first Steel Legion regiment is now done. I have another set of 3 stands to paint to make a fat 6-stand regiment of my elite heavy infantry. I’m still deciding to work on a character or a different regiment like Household Guard or Gilded Legion.

I am aware of the irony in painting the STEEL Legion in gold, and probably painting the Gilded Legion in a slightly different scheme. I think I want to add more black to the Gilded Legion scheme to help make them stand out in the army. Though I’m sure the very long spears they have will probably be enough to do so.

I would describe the golden full plate as resplendent, they are such a shiny walking blender and they should be dressed in their best! I got variety of tiny flowers to add to my bases, so I gave some pizzazz to my bases. Do you like my tiny garden?

I forgot to get a paint I needed to the Oroshan Dreadnought, so while waiting for the next day to go shopping, I got to painting a Knight of mine for my Hundred Kingdoms army. I am going through the Knights of the Round table and this time, I have chosen Sir Palomydes for the checkered pattern of his banner.

Like all my bases for the army, it is cast in resin and magnetized. I like having the thickness from hand-poured resin into a mold so when I do magnetize, the magnet is flush with my base. On the horse bases, I have them racing in a shallow river or creek with rocks and a current flicking about, made with a thick paste-like water effect. I will diversify the base look for different units of cavalry, but my first regiment will be in the river this time.
