While I am building the next batch of White Scars, I am going to be painting some Harlequins so I have some colour to show of intermittently . I have been tasked with painting many diamonds for this army. It came built and magnetized, very well done, very clean. I hope I can do the army justice.
First model is a Star Weaver and its 2 magnetized passengers. Everyone gets orange diamonds, white masks, bronze armour bits, and blue accents pieces like guns, gems, and studs. The base is a simple wraithbone theme. I’m looking to see if the weapons are a good colour to keep and if coupled with blue gems are enough to balance the scheme. This is going to be a very visually striking army once they’re all done.

Finally starting to get started on these guys. Of course, I have a soft spot for the lowly humans in almost every game system. Bonus points if they are religious zealots and have access to fire or cool armour. I am not sure about the fire yet, but there are warrior priests and dudes in cool armour. Not these soldiers though.
These are the first stands of my Men-at-Arms. I had made the bases using clay or plasticard blocks, then I casted them in resin. I kept the masters, so the bases you see these buys on are the copies. It’s also a theme. I tried to make it look like a brick promenade they are marching/charging down. I wanted some variety, so I added some dirt patched and damage. The abrupt stop on the one side is actually going to be a water feature that my cavalry will be galloping through.
The scheme is inspired from the Knights of the Blazing Sun in Warhammer Fantasy, or bees.
Super excited to get my first game in.
Orks and Mechanicum Commission Update #15 – Dakka Jets October 9, 2019

I absolutely love the look of this Squad of Dakka Jets. The yellow is vibrant, the weathering ties them into the world, and the models are awesome.
These are different from the rest of the army since the painting scheme is Bad Moons instead of Evil Sunz. As much as it goes against everything Orks believe in, Dakka Jets don’t need to move faster in game, apparently.

I wanted green uniforms for my soldiers, but I got a great bright green. A similar green to Sir Robin the Brave from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. So, that’s how I themed my warband. Shields and capes will have the chicken motif with the checkered background. They look great!

The last of the harlequins are complete! 3 Troupes and a Solitaire. I have also glued the windows to the flyers and Starweavers.
Free hand of cartoon Cheshire Cat is on the Solitaire to top off the piece.

My viewers got me to do this to myself during my twitch stream. A dragon riding a unicorn, on rollerskates, throwing a giant koi. My thumb acts as the interaction. There were many laughs to be had.

Here is the character addition to the unit of horsemen. Eorl the Young. He would have been the final piece of the commission, but some fixes and additions have been placed. I will be changing the colours of the shields to green and white like the Helmingas and removing the free hand.
I did Eorl to a display standard, lots of blending and I added some freehand. I put a horse icon onto his flag. I didn’t want to make the horse a brighter grey because I thought it would blend into the cape too much.

Finished these twelve soldiers on horseback from Rohan, the Sons of Eorl. I followed the GW scheme. The freehand on the shields are from a stock image for a shield design. Just Eorl left in this commission!

One half of the alternative Lord of the Rings commission is complete. Rohan Helmingas with Grimbold (two-handed axe) attachment. Models are from Gripping Beast Plastics. The fur cloaks are from Maxminis. The cloaks took forever as I needed to heat up the resin to bend the cloaks for fitting. And then I sculpted straps for the cloaks so they look like they are actually attached to the model rather than floating on it. The shields look great too, lots of character in these models. Next up, Rohan Royal Guard.

I was asked to do a few more pieces in the army, particularly some of the reference models. The Black Knight steeds were to be updated with the clean bone, the mounted vampire was to be given a shield, the reference skeleton was to be updated, and the skeleton standard bearer was to have a simple freehand on the banner. They all now tie very nicely together with the rest of the army.
