I forgot that I didn’t post these pictures earlier, I had finished these a couple weeks ago.

First, we have 3 of the heroes. A couple Troupe Masters and a Death Jester. Next are the accessories. 3 turrets for Star Weavers are done as well as the weapons and windows. I wanted the windows to look like they are shielded or holographic so I added a bright blue glow to the top. I think it makes it look like the window is being projected out. I have also finished painting a bunch of hands and arms that were magnetized. I just need to figure out who can have what weapons.

So this commission comes to a close. Shadowsun and Broadside Battlesuit are now done and posing together.

Next up, more Harlequins.

The Broadside and accompanying drones are now done. His primary weapons are magnetized and painted.

I thought I did this scheme in a clever way. The ochre colour I have is a little too yellow for me and all my oranges are too orange. I ended up painting it all in the ochre colour and then glazing the whole area in transparent orange. That way, the orange warms up the ochre to the tone I was looking for. The highlights I kept as bright yellow to hopefully convey the hard material of the battlesuit.

The shield drones also follow a similar scheme. I also gave their midsection a bit of a glow as if they are radiating their shield auras.

I’ve got most of the way on the Broadside and drones. As mentioned before, the scheme is going to be the reverse scheme to Commander Shadowsun. Where she was painted mostly purple with orange as the secondary colour, the Broadside is painted orange with purple as the secondary.

When I’m done the rear dial and the shield drones, I do want to add a bit of blue glow effects around their pale blue parts.

This has been sitting on the back burner for a bit while I was focusing on the Harlequins, but I finally did get around to magnetizing it. Just the main armaments are have magnets so it can switch between the railgun and heavy missile system.

A second Men-at-Arms stand and another hero stand.

I just need to finish a command strip of the infantry and I’ll have a finished regiment! This regiment will have Polish red/white colours, but my other units will have different schemes.

The second hero stand that is complete is a hero with a banner. She is accompanied by a Winged Hussar with his own flag. I think this time, the two minis aren’t as obvious in their different scales as with the Green Knight. My headcannon says the cloth over the hero’s horse is pretty thick and makes the horse bulky.

I gotta say, I was skeptical on the paper flag print out, but having it attached and together with the other painted minis, I think it really comes together. My general is going to have even larger flags, so I hope their more intricate design goes with the rest of the army well.

Finished a bit more of the Warmaster Bretonnians.

The Green Knight hero is accompanied by a winged hussar from Pendraken. I went for the ethereal green like in total war warhammer and gave a bit of a glow to the Green Knight. I painted the Hussar in the traditional red scheme with a leopard pelt. I also got these scale paper Polish flags and attached one. I think the theme is starting to come together.

The first stand of men-at-arms is done. I plan on doing different cloth colors for different regiments, but this one will be in Polish red and white.

Knock, knock. Who’s there? A new Bretonnia army.

For myself, I had a friend print out about 1000 points of 10mm Warmaster Bretonnians designed by Forest Dragon and I started with the Trebuchet. I cut out a base using 0.5mm styrene and put in the crew’s positions before painting and flocking. I went with a pale brown wood colour and added some bushes.

This is looking great already and I can’t wait to show off my ideas for the rest of the army.

Harlequin for scale.

I am pleased to show off my first of three converted Scourgerunner Chariots, finally painted. Some time ago, I put together three of these as my rendition of the Cities of Sigmar Scourgerunner Chariot. I game terms, the chariot is supposed to be a Drukhari/Dark Elf/Privateer model, but I made mine aesthetically human. Specifically, in my Middenheim blue/white colour scheme and Freeguild design.

For the other non-human units in the army book, what kind of scratchbuilds or conversions can I do on the monsters that could follow the Freeguild/human aesthetic? I’m looking into possible clockwork/steampunk works or several guardsmen in hydra hide for my initial ideas.

It certainly has been a hot minute since my last post on these guys, but rest assured, I have not forgotten about them. Today, I have a few pictures on some Phoenix Guard and an Anointed I’m putting together.

These are the last of the Phoenix Guard that I built up, though I still want another 6 to round off the unit to 20 models. As you may have noticed, I don’t use actual Phoenix Guard for the base of the minis. They are either old metal full plate Empire models or Greatsword legs with Knightly Order bodies and a mix of arms to hold a mix of different halberds.

As for the Anointed, I didn’t actually plan to make one for my army, just happy using my Freeguild General. But as I play the army, I am liking the Phoenix Guard more and more and though I should add one for more composition options. I had an extra pair of legs from my Hurricanum, then put it with Knightly Order bits for that power pose. The weapon is a High Elf great axe attached to a brass rod. Hopefully that represents a halberd well enough. Then, the greenstuff happened.

I have a small mold for doing chainmail I got from Greenstuff World that I used to do the mail skirt. I added in riding skirts, a belt, made his shoes armoured, and spruced up the shaft of the weapon. I added some teeth to the helmet and a wolf motif on the axe to keep up my Middenheim theme.
