The next vehicle done is a Dreadnought Drop Pod for the White Scars. I kept the weathering similar to the other vehicles I did, so lots of dirt. But I added black to simulate the scorching from entering an atmosphere.

The doors and hinges are magnetized so we can see the empty inside. I needed to use the heat gun a lot and force the spines into place. Finally, it almost came together perfectly.

A couple of Termite Drill halves are done. I did the different colours of the army, Yellow and Red. Slicing Forgeworld models in half is a bit scary at first, but then the bloodthirst sets in and before you know it, resin dust is all over you and there are two halves sitting on the table.

There was a bit of work done to build up the dirt around the hulls too. So it looks like the dirt is being displaced by the Termites going into or out of the ground. I’m particularly pleased with the Termite going into the ground, where the dirt is welling up like a wave in the front. I even used 4 different materials.

Slate pieces and small gravel were used to build up the bulk of the dirt due to the sizes. Small ballast mixed with small pebbles formed the majority of what is covering the base. And finally, fine sand was added to the edges and corners on the tracks and hull so it looks like some is sticking to the vehicle.

I tried to get the weathering a bit more realistic. The Termite coming out has a lot of dirt all over, where the drill going into the ground has more dirt and mud concentrated to the front. The little gun ports on the red Termite are left quite clean since it opens and closes at will, so little dirt would probably get on the guns.

There are two more to go and will also be red and yellow, though they will be full Termites. One of them will have open doors.

The next model complete for the commission is an Ork Killbursta tank from Forgeworld. Lots of weathering all over the vehicle. It’s mostly silver paint on the top half and then lots of mud and dirt near the tracks. I made sure to put lots of dirt on the ram and make it look like the dirt is flying up the slope.

I forgot to post these here. But they ended up on my other social media accounts.

They are a couple of Xiphon fighters in White Scars colours. I masked off most of the hull in order to paint the canopy and get the sharp, straight lines for the red, since I used an airbrush for most of the painting.

All the dirt weathering I added were all in streaks. I tried to make it in one direction to give the feeling of the forward movement the Xiphons would be doing.

One of the fighters has a thin white stripe on the front triangle. Hopefully that will make it easier to tell which fighter is which.

Halfway done this commission. The group shots of the Orks. A lovely variety of colour, despite the focus on Evil Sunz for most units.

I am particularly proud of the Dakka Jets’ weathering and freehand. They look fantastic. The giant mega armoured warboss looks great as well. Artel W is now on my radar when looking at more minis.

More resin models. This time, they are from Forgeworld. The Ork Big Trakks. More Evil Sunz Scheme because red is fastest, and it just looks so good.

When building FW, you can’t help but compare them to other companies that release similar resin kits. Due to the poor instructions, this kit definitely falls short from alternative Ork kits. Not to say it doesn’t look good, the FW Big Trakk looks awesome.

The first minis have been painted for this commission.

Naturally painted red to go fasta, these Speed Freeks vehicles are a colourful start to the army.

The two shaman are Orruk Shaman from Age of Sigmar, but I believe they are going to be used as different looking Weirdboyz. I made them different skin colours to help differentiate and because I remember Orks have different skin colours to denote age and size.

Diamonds, diamonds all up on hulls and cloaks. I was requested to make the diamonds a fade and neon in colour. The colours are going to be common with all the vehicles and jetbikes. The troupes will have some differences in scheme to separate the squads.
