The repaints are going well. My next batch includes the second Consular and a few Squads.

The consular, this time, is painted as the blue version of the Radiant art title card upgrade. I redid the basecoat as blue and added white lines and other accent colours. I will probably use it as the Consular C70 for it’s fanciness.

I painted up three bases of V-19 Torrent squadrons to go with the Consular. I have been told they are early era Clone Wars fighters, but I still went with my white/blue scheme. There are a handful of leader cards of unique clone troopers like Oddball and Axe who have their own squad symbols. I did a little freehand on some of the fighters with those symbols in case I want to use them some time.

Alternatively, I painted a squad in reverse. The fighters were painted in the majority blue with white accents instead, like my Consular ship. I think this will make it seem they were specifically assigned to escort or are closely associated with my Radiant Consular. Adds more character and narrative to my army. I might paint another base like this for symmetry since I can see more Torrent squads in my future.

Only 9 bases to go!

I am very happy with how the repaints turned out. I still have one more Consular before starting the squadrons.

I didn’t do any research as to if this scheme is one that’s canon, but I know that Clone trooper Rex and his army scheme is blue and white. So, that’s what I did.

The Acclamator was done almost completely with an airbrush. I redid the white and masked it off to do the blue. I couldn’t find any weapons anywhere on the ship, so I decided to sculpt a couple turbolasers on the hull. The Republic insignia on the bottom was sculpted on, and the one on top was airbrushed on by stencil.

It turns out the machine paint job of the Consular was quite messy so I fixed up the lines when I painted the blue and cleaned the white. I made the engine glow blue like the Acclamator, and painted all the guns and grey bits metallic instead.

The scheme got the okay and I finished a few more minis.

The Shadowseer is converted and looks really cool. I add more blue to the grey and shadows for increased contrast. I made the backpack white to break up the dark cloak in the dark.

3 more passengers were done as well. Most of the pattern is in diamonds, but sometimes I do a veiny lava-cracking kind of pattern.

All of the bikes have been built now. I decided to attach the Marines since it didn’t look like too much was obstructed if I glued them in place. Also, they just look so cool.

I am very pleased with how they turned out. Each one is quite unique in that almost all of them have their own weapon/trophy display of some kind, and they’re all attached differently. Very tribal looking.

For the bases, I am continuing the trenchwork/mud theme I had going for the infantry I did earlier. Since the bases are much larger, I can do much more too. I was given stone faces and chain and other random bits, so I put them on. The chains are attached to some of the faces so it looks like some sort of excavation is going on. There are also balsawood catwalks I made for the trenchwork part of the theme.

The brass rods are cut at different heights so the jetbikes look like they are zipping across uneven terrain. Once everything is painted, I will be adding the mud and water effects to complete the aesthetic. I’ve got the catwalks on 4 bases, maybe more are needed?

The next batch of minis are Space Marine Jetbikes! The White Scars like to add trophies and other bits to their steeds so that’s what I did. A bunch have chain glaives and shields attached to the bike. I have a few different materials like chain, rope, and wire.

I tried to give some variety. The shields are placed all over the bikes and the glaives are put on either side.

They are going to be mounted on brass rod attached to their fancy mud and rubble bases. Though I think I’ll be attaching the rods to the base and then have the jetbikes will just be friction fit on top.

While I am building the next batch of White Scars, I am going to be painting some Harlequins so I have some colour to show of intermittently . I have been tasked with painting many diamonds for this army. It came built and magnetized, very well done, very clean. I hope I can do the army justice.

First model is a Star Weaver and its 2 magnetized passengers. Everyone gets orange diamonds, white masks, bronze armour bits, and blue accents pieces like guns, gems, and studs. The base is a simple wraithbone theme. I’m looking to see if the weapons are a good colour to keep and if coupled with blue gems are enough to balance the scheme. This is going to be a very visually striking army once they’re all done.

The last 2 Termite Drills are done! Split into a yellow one and red one like the half termites. They are still dirty as if they just came out of the ground.

The yellow one is the one that got its insides painted and the doors left opened.

The red one had a door that was missing, so I had to cast it in greenstuff. It came out with a bit of a flaw so I decided to paint that part of the door as heat stressed and it kind of looks warped. So I think it works! There is a some burnt paint as well with a bit of beveling so it kind of looks like it has some depth to it.

All the termites have Volkite weapons equipped and in relatively pristine condition since they hide in their compartments.

This is the last of the first half of the commission. The next half is all jetbikes and marines. Exciting!

The next vehicle done is a Dreadnought Drop Pod for the White Scars. I kept the weathering similar to the other vehicles I did, so lots of dirt. But I added black to simulate the scorching from entering an atmosphere.

The doors and hinges are magnetized so we can see the empty inside. I needed to use the heat gun a lot and force the spines into place. Finally, it almost came together perfectly.

A couple of Termite Drill halves are done. I did the different colours of the army, Yellow and Red. Slicing Forgeworld models in half is a bit scary at first, but then the bloodthirst sets in and before you know it, resin dust is all over you and there are two halves sitting on the table.

There was a bit of work done to build up the dirt around the hulls too. So it looks like the dirt is being displaced by the Termites going into or out of the ground. I’m particularly pleased with the Termite going into the ground, where the dirt is welling up like a wave in the front. I even used 4 different materials.

Slate pieces and small gravel were used to build up the bulk of the dirt due to the sizes. Small ballast mixed with small pebbles formed the majority of what is covering the base. And finally, fine sand was added to the edges and corners on the tracks and hull so it looks like some is sticking to the vehicle.

I tried to get the weathering a bit more realistic. The Termite coming out has a lot of dirt all over, where the drill going into the ground has more dirt and mud concentrated to the front. The little gun ports on the red Termite are left quite clean since it opens and closes at will, so little dirt would probably get on the guns.

There are two more to go and will also be red and yellow, though they will be full Termites. One of them will have open doors.
