This sculpt really appealed to me as soon as I saw it. The casual stance, the goofy face, and the gratuitous violence all came together into such an interesting model. The limited pallet of colours and the blood being such a strong contrast makes this model stand out. Next up will be the female bard armours, but I am looking forward to other narrative sculpts.

You may not like it, but this is peak lounging physique. The Smog Singers are complete and in trendy RGB fashion.
They may be monsters in Kingdom Death, and should probably be dispatched on sight, but if it weren’t for the existential horror of the setting, I’m sure this trio would be a great group to hang out with. Kingdom Death is having a painting contest at the end of the month and I will be entering what I complete. I’m picking the red Smog Singer, and now I need to pick an armour set mini and a narrative mini. Hopefully, I get them done! The Crimson Croc monster would have been a stronger choice, but I will not be getting something that large done by the end of the month, so I stuck with the Smog Singers.

Unfortunately, I was quite busy this week and couldn’t paint as much as I wanted to. I did make progress on the Smog Singers and have decided on RGB colours as their theme. The smoke, masks, and pustules still need to be detailed. Which model(s) should I paint next?

It was not just building the Black Knight last week, I also made progress on painting a few mer-people. Naturally, KDM mer-people are horrifying creatures that probably go around tickling your feet while you sleep, these ones smoke while doing it too. The scheme will be inspired by Den of Imagination’s work on them, so each will have a different tail colour.
The third one with the smoke out of it’s mouth, that smoke is in the most delicate of situations and I may need to find hardier solutions to get it to stick.

The new Black Knight expansion got released and needed to be added to the project. I painted this model before when it was a resin kit and did not come with a posse. Here we go with round 2.
I must say, the Black Knight is a very cool model, but the pieces do not fit as well together from what I remember last time. The gaps between pieces were unfortunately quite wide, but it’s fixed now.
The rest of the band are all named characters and this part is more for my records, keeping track of who’s who than anything.
Elle and Iola

Kingdom Death Gambler’s Chest Commission Update #2 – Assembly Batch 2 March 10, 2024

The remaining Gambler’s Chest models are pretty much built. I have sealed most of the gaps on the models. There are a lot of gaps in the people katamari the Gambler is holding.
There are so many narrative sculpts in this and they are so cool. Some more NSFW than others, but they all look good. The only model that was a true pain to build was the katamari ball. Pieces has heads of the people overhanging and interlocking with other people pieces. This lead to issues of pieces getting in each other’s way, and some force was needed.
Onward to painting!

The Gambler’s chest is finally in the hands of many backers, including myself. The next commission on the docket is, the miniatures from the Gambler’s chest. The King is one I have done before and Atnas isn’t desired, so will not be included. I am looking forward to more Kingdom Death on this blog as it has been some time since we have been graced with boutique horror.
Can you name the models in this group?

The group pics are here.
Models are on the tiles for scale. It’s a big board, right? In one corner, the King of Babies. In the other corner, the big weapons of humanity. The Scribe as the ref.
They compete to see who is worthy of bathing in a pool of blood.
