My second Venator is now complete. This will now complete my entire (small) Republic fleet. I will still be looking at other ships they come out with in the future, but I am most anticipating a new squad pack. Though I might just get the first squad pack just to have more Arc-170s and Aethersprites.
I was inspired by a post online of a SPHA-T conversion to do it on my own Venator. The SPHA-T is an upgrade for the ship, giving it a fancy powerful laser to use in battle. This conversion makes it very easy to see which of my Venators has the upgrade. I used a 40k vehicle corner bit as the base, a turret from a Team Yankee British vehicle, and a bunch of miliput to make the gun.
The tone of the white is quite a bit brighter than my other Venator. I’d like to think it’s because they were commissioned at different times during the Clone wars.
Hey this looks great. Can you tell me how you painted on the blue republic logo?
Thanks! I actually printed (on paper) a resized logo I found and cut it out to make a stencil. I used an airbrushed for the first coat of blue and then hand painted the highlights and corrections.
Ahha, I wondered if a stencil was used; man, cutting that out must have been pain-staking. Thanks for the reply!
