Progress on the commission. I think this is the last of the Frostgrave scatter terrain… and Goblins, now that I think about it.

Adventures with the Glowforge lasercutter. This time are pieces of brick wall. I made a couple straight sections and a right angle section. These are 15mm in scale for use in Team Yankee and Flames of War. These are the first iterations and I am currently working on making them easier to put together.

More progress!

A handful of scatter terrain for Frostgrave. This comes in the form of pieces of a market. Various baskets and bags of food, boxes, bricks, and bottles. I am particularly fond of the apples and squash. Adding different colours makes them interesting to look at.

Night Goblin archers were done. I transferred them onto circle bases to for Age of Sigmar compatibility.

Lastly, the Warboss in Mega-armour. This mini is the Iron Boss from Artel W Collectible Miniatures. A fantastic looking piece with plenty of detail.

Another fantastic addition to my repertoire of laser cut doodads and trinkets, a 15mm scale modular brick house. It will be the start of the buildings I am designing for playing in Team Yankee/Flames of War, 15mm scale wargames. But since I don’t have Flames of War, it will just be for our Team Yankee Games.

As usual, cut in MDF, I meticulously designed the brick and roofing patterns to relatively fit in the size of the pieces. I still have some work to do as the patterns sometimes don’t translate well into the laser cutter for whatever reason and it skips some lines.

The patterns are scored, the walls and windows cut out. I want to play with the power of the scoring to make the depth shallower. I want to be able to pick out the grout better when I end up painting this.

Looking forward to more iterations of this design. The next thing I am making is a petrol station and a Brick wall.

The completion pics are up!

A viewer on the Twitch channel had the great idea to do pictures of each armour set together. I added in the monster that goes with the set, if applicable.

The terrain has been shown love. I went with what I did for the last set of terrain pieces. These are also 3D printed, which look amazing. Since I could see the stepping in the pieces, I decided I needed to smooth out the vines that were on the stone pieces. I have some liquid resin that I applied, when it dried, it make the vines nice and rounded. Much more natural than the stepping texture.

As for the animal corpses, there might be some more browns needed in the fur to help separate it from the base.

The last of the commission is complete. The Watcher, the big baddie of Kingdom Death, the last boss…of the base game. Expansions make him the little boss baddie.

I haven’t painted 3D printed models in a long time (almost 4 years now). I’m glad the paint sticks and that it went on so nicely. I look forward to getting one of my own in the far future, possibly in the 41st millennium.

Kingdom Death Monster Commission Update #2 – Phoenix February 13, 2017

While waiting for the Numenor to dry, I built the Phoenix. Starting the 3D printed face terrain, trying to smooth them out. I am pouring PVA glue over to make it smooth. Maybe another couple layers.

The Phoenix, like mine that I built, was difficult. But at least I knew where to put things. Those hands are just so easy to drop. It’s going to look so good painted. The base is a Skull base from Secret Weapon Miniatures.

On another note, I got myself a webcam. I’ll start streaming myself painting the LOTR minis first, followed by KD, and maybe my own stuff eventually. Looking forward to it!

I’ll try to stream tomorrow, at least. Here is the link to the channel https://www.twitch.tv/bergunder

My girlfriend and I decided to have a crafts day. We are making this cute guardhouse, design is inspired by a medieval structure.
Reggie is a lonely guardsman who lives attached to his post, guarding a forgotten river crossing in a non-descript grasslands. He maintains the guardhouse. He made himself a firewood stock shelter, patched up his door when it was attacked by a bear, and did the roof himself.
Materials used: cardstock, balsa wood, styrene, foamcore, random beads, and a plastic tree.
Phase 1 of construction complete. Next, we will be adding battlements on the tower, a roof to the connecting hallway, a brick road to the stairs, and dirt.
