The Relic Knights Black Diamond are completely done (until I expand). Here are some group shots.

My Relic Knights are now complete. Iron Chef: Definitely not Solid Snake, and Magnus Leopold, my commander, are done. Group shots coming soon. Like the other models in my army, I gave them the custom base treatment and a good amount of painting time.

I decided to follow the box art for both the models. Iron Chef with the greys and Leopold with the shining armour. This was the first time in a while since I have done a non-metallic effect. I’d say it turned out pretty well.

I have completed more of my Black Diamond force. This batch includes three Suspect 7 and a Sophia Drake.

I tried to loosely follow colour schemes for the skins of Akali from League of Legends. But I think they look more like the ninja women from Mortal Kombat. The one in yellow has a 7 on her clothing, so now she has a soccer jersey haha. All the ninjas have water effects on their bases, making them garden themed.

Sophia Drake looking great. I made her armour more on the warmer side that is complemented by the bricks on her base.

Almost done, just Iron Chef and Leopold to go!

Last weekend was painting time for Relic Knights. Looking sexy. Did some OSL on the tank from the muzzle flash. I also have some water effects going on with the infantry. I wanted to go for more of a Starship Trooper vibe, but then they somewhat deviated from my vision XD. Finally, my little cat familiar (Static?) is Espeon flexing its power. I can’t wait until everything else is done 🙂

I think I will come back to the cat. I want the power markings to be brighter and more vibrant.

Finished 2 more heros for Super Dungeon Explore. These two come from the Caverns of Roxor expansion. There are three heros that come in that set, so I’ll get to painting the third one soon. And these heros are definitely not inspired from certain video games from a certain company *cough* Nintendo *cough*. I present, definitely not Mario and definitely not Link.

Finished the Dwarf fero for Super Dungeon Explore and the ghost ship for Dreadfleet. I thought the ship was just a green wash over a white undercoat, but upon closer inspection, it wasn’t that pathetic.

I call it, The SDE Transportinator. Complete with nigh-indestructible aluminum casing and girl repellant. I found this case and the foam at Walmart. Although, the foam isn’t as dense or good looking as the black foam and machine cutting that Battlefoam and similar companies use. This way, you get a working transport for a fraction of the cost.

I am going to add more pictures on the front to represent which expansions we end up getting.

There’s a lot of shoddy cutting and marks everywhere, but it works. It’s actually is able to hold everything we need to play (the entire starter set), plus 3 expansions (Fireflow Denizens, Rock Top Gang, and another Dragon’s Clutch), and it has a bit more room to fit another one.

I finished the first set of models. One of each type, just to get a feel for the style I want to go for.

For the last models of this first batch, I completed a Dragon Clutch and the Druid with his Bear. I am not too fond of how I did the Dragon Clutch, it just isn’t up to par with the other models. However, I am quite happy with the Druid and the Bear. I believe I have the anime-like flesh tones the way I want them.

Finished a Dragon Priest, a Gouger, an Ironscale, a Knucklehead, and a treasure chest. These little rascals cut down heroes by the bushel. I love being the Consol.

This is madness! I am on a painting spree.

This dragon Whelp has some nice scales painted on by yours truly in a painstaking freehanding session. This whole model took me about 4 hours to do.

With about 50 models in the starter game, plus the models from Rocktop Gang, an extra Dragon Clutch, a Fireflow, and an incoming set of Roxor’s Cavern…it should only take me about another…300 hours to finish everything. And guess what, there’s another Super Dungeon Explore expansion coming out soon: Von Drakk. Guess who is going to be the one to paint the models? Me. And I am looking forward to every second.
