There are two Apothecaries that are assigned to the army. Naturally, they get jump packs for more efficient door-to-door surgery. They also get fancy squiggly spears. I think the next White Scars minis will be the dreadnoughts.

I did a batch of these with pointy claws in the last Mechanicum commission and now more are needed, but with power paws. Hazard yellow with black accents and a good amount of iron and brass. You can tell they’ve gone to work already due to the blood splatters. I’m told a squad of these are a terror on the battlefield.

For the first time in forever, I have recorded my painting on one of the Ursarax. Over the next little while, I will be editing that video and posting it on Youtube. Hopefully, my new desk setup and lighting work out so the footage is usable.

With the completion of the bolter bikes, the Outriders are now complete. They all have some sort of power weapon, I think they are going to be used as some sort of special weapons unit.

Included is also the Warlord on bike. He is the one doing a wheelie and has a glaive. I was also asked to paint some eagles and one of them is attached to a base. It looks like it’s going to be some kind of marker during the game.

The next batch for this commission will be some Mechanicum models, but they are getting prepped for painting, so I will be painting more Harlequins right now.

It’s been a while, building and getting the pieces ready to paint for these guys. But, since I’ve gotten started on them, progress will be fast. This is the first batch and the other 13 bikes are on the way! Like the rest of the White Scars, there’s a mud/trench theme for the bases so I made sure to include a lot of weathering.

The first batch of jetbikes are done.

Like the Xiphon and Chaplains I already did, there is a lot of dirt and weathering on the bikes. They are currently in battle, in white armour, so I imagine it gets dirty. The bases further expand on my theme of these. Some stone faces are attached with chain so it looks like an excavation is going on. I think I’ll add more wood pathways for the trench works part of the theme.

All of the bikes have been built now. I decided to attach the Marines since it didn’t look like too much was obstructed if I glued them in place. Also, they just look so cool.

I am very pleased with how they turned out. Each one is quite unique in that almost all of them have their own weapon/trophy display of some kind, and they’re all attached differently. Very tribal looking.

For the bases, I am continuing the trenchwork/mud theme I had going for the infantry I did earlier. Since the bases are much larger, I can do much more too. I was given stone faces and chain and other random bits, so I put them on. The chains are attached to some of the faces so it looks like some sort of excavation is going on. There are also balsawood catwalks I made for the trenchwork part of the theme.

The brass rods are cut at different heights so the jetbikes look like they are zipping across uneven terrain. Once everything is painted, I will be adding the mud and water effects to complete the aesthetic. I’ve got the catwalks on 4 bases, maybe more are needed?

The next batch of minis are Space Marine Jetbikes! The White Scars like to add trophies and other bits to their steeds so that’s what I did. A bunch have chain glaives and shields attached to the bike. I have a few different materials like chain, rope, and wire.

I tried to give some variety. The shields are placed all over the bikes and the glaives are put on either side.

They are going to be mounted on brass rod attached to their fancy mud and rubble bases. Though I think I’ll be attaching the rods to the base and then have the jetbikes will just be friction fit on top.

The last 2 Termite Drills are done! Split into a yellow one and red one like the half termites. They are still dirty as if they just came out of the ground.

The yellow one is the one that got its insides painted and the doors left opened.

The red one had a door that was missing, so I had to cast it in greenstuff. It came out with a bit of a flaw so I decided to paint that part of the door as heat stressed and it kind of looks warped. So I think it works! There is a some burnt paint as well with a bit of beveling so it kind of looks like it has some depth to it.

All the termites have Volkite weapons equipped and in relatively pristine condition since they hide in their compartments.

This is the last of the first half of the commission. The next half is all jetbikes and marines. Exciting!

The next vehicle done is a Dreadnought Drop Pod for the White Scars. I kept the weathering similar to the other vehicles I did, so lots of dirt. But I added black to simulate the scorching from entering an atmosphere.

The doors and hinges are magnetized so we can see the empty inside. I needed to use the heat gun a lot and force the spines into place. Finally, it almost came together perfectly.
