Starting off the next regiment of knights, I adjusted the colour scheme to match a regiment of Men-at-arms I did earlier. One more stand and that will complete the minimum regiment.

I got around to finishing the last stand for my first regiment of Knights. Red and white for this. I’ll be trying other colours for the other units of Knights.

Just wanted to show off what the army is looking like so far. The infantry is done, so next is the knights and light cavalry. The painted models so far are 3 units of Men-at-arms, a trebuchet, and 2 stands of heroes.

The final unit of Men-at-Arms is done for my first 1000 points of army that has been printed. There will eventually be brigades worth of men-at-arms, but for now we will continue on painting knights.

This third unit I decided on a different colour scheme, yellow and turquoise. It’s definitely a different scheme than what I have done on many other models, including Harlequins. Turquoise being an uncommon colour in my repertoire.

While waiting for coats of Mod Podge to dry for the Normandy model, I got to painting my Bretonnians. I finished a stand of knights and a unit of Men-at-arms in an alternative colour scheme.

The banner designs are freehand. I thought about making stencils, but I’m doing different designs on each flag, so I don’t see it being too useful. I’m going for a common colour scheme between units that I would thematically keep together as a brigade, then have different schemes for different brigades.

A second Men-at-Arms stand and another hero stand.

I just need to finish a command strip of the infantry and I’ll have a finished regiment! This regiment will have Polish red/white colours, but my other units will have different schemes.

The second hero stand that is complete is a hero with a banner. She is accompanied by a Winged Hussar with his own flag. I think this time, the two minis aren’t as obvious in their different scales as with the Green Knight. My headcannon says the cloth over the hero’s horse is pretty thick and makes the horse bulky.

I gotta say, I was skeptical on the paper flag print out, but having it attached and together with the other painted minis, I think it really comes together. My general is going to have even larger flags, so I hope their more intricate design goes with the rest of the army well.

Finished a bit more of the Warmaster Bretonnians.

The Green Knight hero is accompanied by a winged hussar from Pendraken. I went for the ethereal green like in total war warhammer and gave a bit of a glow to the Green Knight. I painted the Hussar in the traditional red scheme with a leopard pelt. I also got these scale paper Polish flags and attached one. I think the theme is starting to come together.

The first stand of men-at-arms is done. I plan on doing different cloth colors for different regiments, but this one will be in Polish red and white.

Knock, knock. Who’s there? A new Bretonnia army.

For myself, I had a friend print out about 1000 points of 10mm Warmaster Bretonnians designed by Forest Dragon and I started with the Trebuchet. I cut out a base using 0.5mm styrene and put in the crew’s positions before painting and flocking. I went with a pale brown wood colour and added some bushes.

This is looking great already and I can’t wait to show off my ideas for the rest of the army.

Harlequin for scale.
